Hello, I'm Landon.

I'm a Lead UX Designer at Deloitte Digital, also known as a Studio Senior. With over 7 years of experience designing web products, I’m passionate about creating user-friendly experiences. Oh, and I’m a huge Star Wars fan—so if you ever want to chat about the Force, I’m all in!

Current role

In my current role at Deloitte, I work closely with the Department of Education and Federal Student Aid. I’ve had the opportunity to lead design on products like My Dashboard and the Aidan AI chatbot, and I’ve also supported design for FAFSA. When I'm not working on new products, I'm building scalable Figma component libraries and collaborating within Agile development teams.

Outside of work

When I’m not designing for work, you’ll likely find me building personal web projects—like this portfolio, a crypto website, or even designing concepts for Call of Duty Warzone UIs. Basically, I just love creating things. Outside of building, I’m a fan of playing video games with friends, traveling, and spending time with my wife and cat!

Special Abilities

Design Dev Handoff 🤜🤛

I excel at handing off designs to developers, leveraging my experience as both a front-end developer and a designer. I create Figma designs that align with HTML best practices and are DevMode-ready, ensuring a seamless transition from wireframes to working products. Through close collaboration with developers—including 1:1 meetings to clarify details—I ensure designs are translated into functional, high-quality solutions.

I know that delivering the highest-quality product requires strong collaboration. I've worked with both UX advocates and skeptics in high-profile American intelligence agencies, navigating remote, hybrid, and in-office environments. I take pride in building trusted relationships across teams—including designers, developers, stakeholders, product owners, and users—bridging gaps and fostering open communication to create great products.

Scalable Design 🧑‍🎨

For designs to meet organizational and user goals, I know they need to be responsive, flexible, templatized and component driven. That’s why I work closely with developers to formulate designs that are not only technically feasible but also account for a wide variety of situations such as edge-cases, null states, errors and discrepancies in data quality.

Communicating Value 🗣️

Design can often feel subjective, divisive, or costly, which is why clear communication is essential. I have successfully presented designs to multiple leadership teams, product owners and stakeholders, demonstrating UX value and impact. To make design as objective as possible, I rely on data-driven decisions rooted in facts—because in my experience, data is the most powerful tool for proving impact.
